FIRE: Intro to Inversions

Welcome to Element(ary): a THETA learning experience

Intro to Inversions

Each one of our Element(ary) workshops will be related to one of the elements. This month? Fire 🔥

In this FIRE workshop with Brendan Bornstein we're introducing inversions. Although being upside down is an end goal, we'll prepare the body with an opening flow + strengthing drills to build the awareness and harness the strength to get on our hands.

Inversions we'll be working toward:

  • crow pose (bakasana)

  • handstand (adho mukha vrksasana)

Let's feed our inner fire moving from discomfort into growth and strength.

Meet Brendan:

Brendan started playing hockey at 2 years old, and has spent most of his life playing hockey competitively around the US and Canada where he is currently playing for the University of Toronto. As someone who has been involved in sport and competition his whole life, movement and fitness have played a huge role in who he is. Brendan’s love for yoga started in 2018 and in the summer of 2021 he took his passion to the next level when he completed his yoga teacher training.

Brendan has worked with competitive athletes where he focuses his classes on energy and heat building sequences with mobility and strength work. He emphasizes mind body connection in his sequencing, and his background in athletics combines dynamic movements with the philosophies and integration of classic yoga sequencing to create a modern style of power vinyasa. After moving with Brendan you will feel energized, uplifted, and connected!

Brendan’s vinyasa classes are for anyone who wants to move their body, build heat and energy, and incorporate mobility and strength work into the practice
